Accolades trail the emergence of Dr Chinyere Nwoga, the indefatigable deputy president of the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce (PHCCIMA) who bagged the position of vice chairman of the well-respected Institute of Directors (IoD).

The President of PHCCIMA, Chief Nabil Saleh, tops the business chiefs that have hailed Dr Nwoga. The President/CEO of Integrated Catering Services Limited, Pastor Oluwatoyin Alabi, was one of the early admirers who sent out messages of appreciation to put the feat in perspective.  They said she has added another feather on her well studded cap.

During the Annual General Meeting of the Institute of Directors of Nigeria South Zone held in Port Harcourt, Dr Nwoga unanimously emerged as the Vice-Chairman.

Just like the PHCCIMA experience where she broke the gender jinx and emerged the first woman to break into the PHCCIMA presidency, Dr. Nwoga once again emerged as the first woman to occupy the exalted seat of the Vice-Chairman Institute of Directors of Nigeria South Zone.

Announcing the new development to members during the PHCCIMA expanded council meeting on Thursday, the PHCCIMA President, Chief Nabil Saleh congratulated Dr. Nwoga saying “As the trailblazer she is, she has continued to conquer frontiers, and we are assured of the vibrancy, experience, expansion, and vision she will bring to the Institute during her tenure”.

Institute of Directors of Nigeria is a prime business membership Organization for business leaders in Nigeria. The organization represents directors in their individual capacity and empowers them to contribute significantly to the welfare of the companies they run and to national development. IoD works to establish and maintain contact amongst business leaders at the highest levels and interfaces with the government for the creation and entrenchment of favourably business-friendly policies in seemingly challenging circumstances for the creation of wealth.
