The Sole Administrator of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), Bro. Felix Obuah, has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Service Providers who are yet to rid their operational zones of dirt should do so, or have their contracts terminated.
Bro. Obuah, who issued the ultimatum, said the deadline given to the contractors was necessitated by heaps of refuse currently dotting some areas in Port Harcourt, the State capital, and its environ zones.
He said the Agency could no longer condone laxity of service providers who would not take their jobs seriously.
Bro. Obuah also warned all service providers doing business with the Agency to be alive to their responsibilities, adding that RIWAMA would not relent in its resolve to sustain the Garden City status of the State.
The Sole Administrator announced the setting up of a Monitoring Task Force to carry out daily inspections and report any defaulting Service Provider, according to a statement issued by Jerry Needam, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the RIWAMA boss.
