Former National Chairman of the Reformed All Progressive Congress, Buba Galadima has given indicators which buttress the fact that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would wrest power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2019.

Galadima mentioned the poor state of the economy, insecurity in some parts of the country and APC’s insincerity as indicators that the APC was on its way out of power.

He stated this at Toru-Orua, Sagbama Local Government area of Bayelsa State where he paid a condolence visit to Governor Henry Seriake Dickson over the death of his mother, Gold Coast Dickson.

Galadima noted that with the focused, detribalised, purposeful leadership and disposition of Governor Dickson and other PDP governors across the country, the party has proved its readiness to return the country to its glorious past.

A member of the PDP Gubernatorial Screening Committee for the South-South spoke as a representative of the Chairman of the South-South PDP Gubernatorial Screening Committee, Muraina Ajibola.

He said the late GoldCoast Dickson died a fulfilled woman, having brought forth a worthy son and a reputable leader among others and seeing him attain the enviable position of a governor who had exploited the tools of governance to develop his state

Galadima said that as individuals and members of the PDP South-South Gubernatorial Screening Committee, they were proud of Dickson’s current achievements as governor and his efforts aimed at ensuring peace, understanding and unity in the PDP family.

He pointed out that the governor had made tremendous impact on the lives of so many Nigerians and that his ability to speak out dispassionately on critical issues remains a quality that has endeared him to PDP faithfuls and others across the country.

In his words: “He is one person in the party we regard as a reliable pillar, a reliable pillar that we never had any doubt in his ability to speak his mind and make things happen. And with the support of people like him in the PDP, we are more than confident.

“And we urge all Nigerians to be more than confident that it is possible that this government must and should be removed come May, 2019.

“Therefore, in this dark hours of sadness of our mother, all well-meaning Nigerians, including our party men feel  the pain and that is why everybody is trooping in to commiserate with you over the death of our mother.”

Responding, Governor Dickson expressed gratitude to Galadima for creating time to honour the memory of his mother and commended him for his years of committed and selfless service to the country.

Dickson stressed that there has been a long lasting mutually beneficial positive relationship and collaboration between the North and South and emphasised the need for leaders of the two regions to work towards strengthening the existing alliance towards ensuring a stable Nigeria for the benefit of the people.
