No APC primaries took place in Bayelsa East senatorial district

A frontline Senatorial aspirant in Bayelsa East Senatorial District, in Bayelsa state,  Dr Sylva Opuala-Charles, has expressed surprise at the report published in a newspaper insinuating that he was defeated in the just concluded All Progress Congress ( APC), Senatorial  primary by Bishop Biobarkuma Degi.

Dr Charles, in a chat with our reporter, said to the best of his knowledge, no primaries were conducted on the scheduled date of the purported senatorial primary in his senatorial district.

While challenging anybody that claims to have the result of the said primary to come forward, he querried that the press would have cross-checked such information with him before going to press.

He said by such misleading report, the press has only succeeded in deceiving the public and giving the impression that senatorial primaries took place in Bayelsa East Senatorial District.

The senatorial aspirant, told our reporter that what happened on the day of the said primaries was most embarrassing as some party stalwarts  went somewhere in Yenagoa and allocated  candidates to the different positions in state.

He insist that if indeed the said primaries took place, that he was still waiting for such result.

Dr Silva Opuala-Charles also hinted that in the spirit of fairness, the treatment meted at his person from the date of the primaries till now was grotesquely unfair. “Because, as a major stakeholder in APC Bayelsa State, I deserve respect. I even deserve preferential considering my contributions to the party. This kind of crude actions, without mincing words, could chase any committed stalwart out of the party, and if things continue in this fashion, I fear possible exodus of members from the party.”
