CIVIL RIGHTS COUNCIL RIVERS STATE CHAPTER CALLS FOR IMMEDIATE PROSECUTION OF DAVID AMAWHULE FOR  ROBBERY,KIDNAP AND RAPE OF 13 YEARS OLD GIRL IN RUMUODARA ,OBI/AKPOR LGA .

Civil Rights Council Rivers State chapter calls on the Police authority in the state to ensure timely arraignment of David Amawhule in court who is accused of kidnapping a thirteen years old girl and raping her for hours after he had earlier robbed the victim and her family  of 184,000 naira and handset when he broke into their apartment at Okporo road in Rumuodara in Obi/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State on  Monday ,16 September , 2019.

The violence perpetrated against the thirteen years old girl by the said David who was arrested by vigilante group on Friday 20 September, 2019 while on  another operation is highly condemnable.

As Human Rights Advocacy group We believe that the best way to salvage the emotion of the little girl who has been in serious pains after the incident is to ensure a directly proportional punishment is melted out  to the suspect inline with the law.

Civil Rights Council team who visited the victim and her family last Friday is still in shock at the level of physical and emotional damage done to the girl by the suspect.

We use this medium to draw the attention of  International Federation of Women lawyers(FIDA),NAWOJ, NUJ and Nigerians of good conscience to the plight of the 13 years old girl.

We equally commend Comrade Frank Nzube Weli, the President of Rumuodara Youth and his entire executives for ensuring  the arrest of David Amawhule after painstaking efforts.

Signed: Prince Wiro, Chairman, Civil Rights Council, Rivers State.
