The Dubai Tourism Board and managers of the Dubai 2020 Expo have expressed readiness to collaborate with the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce (PHCCIMA) to achieve its 2019 roadshow objectives that will be mutually beneficial to both parties.
The Dubai Tourism Board African Director, Stella Kalainne Fubara, and Senior Manager Destination Marketing of the Dubai 2020 Expo, Mark Grossfield, made this joint consensus during the Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism) roadshow held at the Banquet Hall of Hotel Presidential. They reiterated that PHCCIMA is strategic to their plan as a driver of the organized private sector, there is the need for both organizations to synergize to achieve a robust objective.
The President of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Chief Nabil Saleh, represented by the ChairmanTourism, Hospitality and Travel Agencies Trade Group of PHCCIMA, Mrs. Ayo Sokari., in his remark, commended the Dubai Tourism Board for organizing a road show in Port Harcourt.
He said as the hub of oil and gas and commercial nerve center of the country, Port Harcourt holds a lot of potentials. He expressed confidence that the collaboration between PHCCIMA, Dubai Tourism Board and the Dubai 2020 Expo will be strategic to the success of this initiative.
Speaking about the investment Dubai Tourism makes in Africa, the African Director Dubai Tourism Board, Mrs. Stella Kalainne Fubara said: “We will continue to invest in Africa, and this roadshow is just another way for us to reach our partners in the market. Further evidenced by the record number of participants traveling with us on this trip, the West African market is very appealing and a priority for our Dubai-based partners,” she said.
Saleh expressed confidence that the collaboration between PHCCIMA, Dubai Tourism Board and the Dubai 2020 Expo will be strategic to the success of this initiative.
The event is part of efforts to promote the Dubai’s ever-evolving tourism proposition to African tourists, Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism) roadshow event in Port Harcourt. It is targeted to further strengthen relationships with key industry stakeholders in the region and had a record over 28 Dubai-based partners in participation.
Dubai Tourism had held the roadshow in Accra, Ghana on March 15; followed by Abuja, Nigeria on March 18, before Port Harcourt on March 20 and will be holding it in Lagos on March 22. The roadshow among other things highlighted Dubai’s affordable experiences and diversity of offerings to key travel partners in the West African region; spanning across travel, accommodation, entertainment, and events in the city, with a focus on family travel.
Special showcasing during the event include breakout network sessions, partner presentations, one-to-one meetings, an education session and Dubai Expert certifications and a briefing update on Expo 2020 and raffle draw for travel agencies. Also in attendance were Mrs Florence Nwosibe of Air Floxy and Udeme Urok of Golden Sands Systerm and the Director General of PHCCIMA.
