Uwangue College Alumni commend Gov Okowa appointing an ‘Old Boy’ as commissioner


The class of 1992, of the alumni association of Uwangue Collage, Warri in Delta State, has commended Dr Ifanyi Okowa, the Governor of Delta State, for appointing a member of the class, Honourable Freeman Ortis Fregene, as a cabinet commissioner in Delta State executive council.

The secretary of the class alumni association, Mr Lucky Omaye Omuvwie, and one of its leaders, Mr Freeborn Eghagha, in a joint statement in Asaba, the state capital, said the appointment of Honourable Fregene, would add value to the Okowa-led administration in the state.

While congratulating Hon Fregene for the well-deserved appointment, Mr Omuvwie said that the youthful commissioner presents valuable experience having grown from the grassroots to the enviable height he has attained.

According to him the appointment of Hon. Fregene, who had served as the Ward Secretary of the People Democratic Party, PDP, in Orere Ward in Warri South West, Local Government Area and also a councilors representing his ward in the council area is reflective of Governor Okowa’s appreciation of loyalty and commitment to service.

The secretary of the alumni association said, as a general prefect during the school year, Hon Fregene, had always shown the leadership quality and commitment in any responsibility given to him.

He assured that the newly appointed commissioner that holds a Masters degree in Public Administration and a B.Sc. degree in Business Administration would bring his wealth of experience to bear in his new position.
