The Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, has assured the federal commissioner supervising Bayelsa State office of the Public Complaints Commission, Hon.Marshall Israel, of his support and collaboration in the fight against administrative injustice and maladministration in Bayelsa State.
He equally reiterated his readiness and commitment to ensuring that the Public Complaints Commission achieved it’s mandate in line with his vision to always partner with Federal Government agencies in Bayelsa State.
The governor gave this assurance through the Secretary to the Bayelsa State Government Rt. Hon. Friday Konbowei Benson, when the Federal Commissioner and his team paid him a courtesy visit on Tuesday the 8th of September, 2020 at the SSG Conference Hall, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
While addressing the SSG and his team, Hon. Marshall Israel, explained the functions and mandates of the PCC and urged the Bayelsa State Government, relevant agencies and stake holders to collaborate with the Public Complaints Commission in the fight against Administrative injustice and maladministration in Bayelsa State.
The PCC boss also adumbrated on the importance of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanism as a panacea for sustainable peace and development in Bayelsa State since development does not thrive in the atmosphere of conflict and crisis.
The Federal Commissioner equally proposed to the Government for a one Day Workshop with security agencies, Bayelsa State Ministry of Justice, relevant agencies and stake holders on Alternative Dispute Resolution.
In response, the SSG promised to covey the proposal to the Governor but assured the PCC boss that the Governor and indeed Bayelsa State Government will support and partner with the Public Complaints Commission.
