Showers Schools in Port Harcourt try to attempt all events that bring out the total man or woman early in their students.
The Founder/CEO, Mrs Ekama Emilia Akpan, has however picked out one of those she said consistently encourages the school which is strong in international and national examination.
For 2023, Mrs Akpan said Showers Schools had the privilege to host the South-South Director of GTB, Mrs Eno Ebruke, recently.
The CEO stated in her message: “She came loaded with gifts for the students and to congratulate the winner of the British Council BROCLA Award, Best of Nigeria, Combined Science, O Level, Master Jidenna Dibor.
“Mrs Ebruke’s speech, brilliantly presented by Mr. Paul Idalu, GTB Group Head, SME, with the theme: “Building Resilience, Embracing Challenges, Creating Opportunities,” given during the sendforth was well received.
“Mrs Ebruke has been supportive to Showers Schools for over 10 years. She had, in her last visit, given gifts to the class 2024, who had 100 per cent success in the November 2022, Cambridge O Level, taken while in grade 10. Her gifts to the students caused lots of joy amongst the students.
“Thank you, GTB, for your continued support to Showers Schools and to Women Entrepreneurs in general.”
The CEO also sent ‘Gratitude and Appreciation’ to those she said had played background roles that have helped the school to remain a leader in academics and proper upbringing of the students both in character and in learning.
She said those persons had made the ‘Send-forth Class of 2023’ extremely eventful and well appreciated.
“Without your inputs, it could have been impossible to have such a Fun Day!!
“Most attendees attested to having a real good time. Thank you, and my prayers are that when you seek God’s help too, He will answer.
“As partner to Showers Schools Port Harcourt, you will be pleased to note, we were on the podium on Saturday, the 6th of July, to receive “Best of Nigeria”, amongst the 45 schools and 110 candidates. This is an award on same subject, Combined Science achieved, three years running at O-level category.
“The BROCLA Event, held at Victoria Island, Lagos, is British Council initiative to showcase best achievement in the Cambridge University examinations globally taken twice a year.
“The achievement of our students this time is a phenomenon because this time, this was attempted at Grade 10 (SS1).
Four students attempted this exam with 100 per cent pass at Grade but only made the “Best of Nigeria” with 92 per cent.
“Your support cannot be taken for granted, and we shall continue to affirm, and acknowledge Friends of Showers Schools that lend us the push and help to achieve all these successes. Thank you very much.”
