·Suleiman Babanawa is chairman of campaign council

A seasoned journalist who made waves in the Punch years ago, Faruk Adejo-Audu, has been picked to head the communications squad of the campaign council of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Kogi State.
His ‘combat’ squad will report to the chairman of the campaign squad, Suleiman Babanawa. Audu is respected in the media as a hard-nosed and investigative journalist who cut his teeth in Benue State with the Punch especially in the days of military rule. He later foraged into politics.
Now, he has been found suitable to lead the media charge for the SDP to capture his home state, Kogi.

Some 86 days to Kogi State guber election, the SDP has constituted it’s campaign council. Babanawa was named state chairman of the campaign council, Sheikh Ibrahim Jibrin and Abdulrahman Wuya Mohammed, state Director General and State Secretary respectively.
Adejo-Audu has already carried out the first task on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, when he unveiled the council composition where he said the SDP is ready to kick-start its electioneering activities.
“In furtherance of its plans towards the November 11, 2023 governorship elections in Kogi State, the Murtala Ajaka Gubernatorial Campaign Organization of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) aka Muri/Sam Campaign has announced the composition of top hierarchy of its State Campaign Council.
“The Campaign Council is made up of top-rate technocrats, seasoned professionals and sassy politicians. Campaign has already started at the grassroots level at the various council areas of the state,” he said.
Other members of the campaign council are: State Co-Chairman: Hon. Peter Moses Director, Security and Intelligence: Brig-Gen Benjamin Ipinyomi (rtd) Deputy Director, Security and Intelligence: Hajiya Aisha Asabe Yusuf (ACP)
Director, Communications/Campaign Spokesman: Hon. Faruk Adejoh-Audu;
Deputy Spokesman: Pastor Dayo Thomas;
Director, Youth Affairs: Hon Ahmed Attah Zonal Officers.
For Kogi Central; Zonal Chairman: Rt. Hon. Lawal Idris; Zonal Director-General: Hon. Akomi Yusuf Ojapa; Zonal Secretary: Hon Anokebe Kogi West; and Zonal Chairman: Chief Adeyemi.
Others mentioned were Zonal Director-General: Chief Fehnti Dada; Zonal Secretary: Hon. Abayomi Bello Kogi East; Zonal Chairman: Alhaji Hassan Yakubu Enape; Zonal Director-General: Hon. Suleiman Atajachi; and Zonal Secretary: Hon: Ranyi Daniya.
The statement equally disclosed that other key functionaries of the campaign announcements and details shall be released soon.
