NCDC in two-day visit to Cross River

Cross River and Kogi are two states that are known to oppose the ways of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). Kogi in particular drove away NCDC team that came for testing. Cross River has not recorded a positive case, probably for lack of testing. Now, the NCDC is welcome in Cross River.


The National Centre for Disease control (NCDC) on Monday begins a two day official visit to Calabar the Cross River State capital.

The six man team is led by Omobolanle Oluwu from the Federal Ministry of Health arrived the State for an on the spot assesment of the dreaded covid 19  situation in the State.

The team was received by the Cross River State Commissioner for Health and Chairman Covid 19  Response Team Betta Edu.

Briefing the team on behalf of Governor Ben Ayade, Betta Edu said the State has put in place measures that will contain the spread of the virus in the State.

She re assured the team that the State is collaborating with UCTH  the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and other professional bodies to ensure that the State remain save.

She noted that 50 monitoring team has been put in place at strategic location with three isolation centres in the State.
