Another history was made today by the Niger Delta Activists Forum. The long awaited inauguration of the Rivers State chapter of the forum was a huge success today.
After administering the oat of office, the President, Comrade Success Jack charged the State excos to take leadership to the grassroots by constituting LGAs and Wards Executives. He further advised them on the aims and objectives of the Forum and the need to preserve the ideals of the organisation. Responding, the State Chairman, comrade Tamunoimama Tamunobelema on behalf of his executives thanked the National Executive Council for the honour done them and promised to leave up to expectations.
You would recall that the decision to inaugurate state chapters was birthed in a National Executive Council meeting after our media parley in the last quarter of 2019. The setting up of state chapters is to drive and deepen the ideals of the organisation to the very grassroot. This is ultimately intended to provide more robust and impactful leadership to the Niger Delta people. The Rivers chapter makes a number of three States to be inaugurated. Hopefully, Imo and Bayelsa States are next online for inauguration.
As in our characteristic manner, State chapter inauguration is followed by a struggle in the state. To this end, a seven (7) day ultimatum has been issued to the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs to come and address our people over the deplorable state of federal roads under his ministry. The letter to that effect was submitted to the Minister’s office today, 29 January, 2020. A one day warning protest is scheduled at the expiration of the seven (7) days ultimatum.
Again as usual, the President, comrade Success Jack led the newly sworn in excos to pay a courtesy call on the Director, Department Of State Security, Rivers Command. This brings the activities of the day to a close.
