PHCCIMA approves 2020 budget, ready to begin work on permanent site


PHCCIMA Council today held its first meeting of the year in the Chamber Council Hall, considered and approved the proposed Chamber 2020 income and expenditure budget presented on behalf  of Exco by the treasurer and chairman of Chamber Finance Committee, Engr. Tony Nwogbo with the support of the Financial Secretary Arc. Oriaku Hanson Oyet-Ile.

The Chairman of the Council and the Chamber President Chief  Nabil Saleh informed Council members about the decision of the Executive Governor to approve the long expected land certificate of the Chamber land soon and his directive that the PHCCIMA must commence development of the permanent site within six months of the approval.

Council members applauded this and decided to increase the budget to provide for donations towards quick development of the land.

The President announced dissolution of the Chamber Trade Groups’ Excos, thanked them for their support, and promised to reconstitute the Trade Groups’ Excos soon, and to reappoint the active ones.

He also informed the Council that its 2019 Annual General Meeting (AGM) will hold in the first week of March, 2020.

Other valued Council members present were the 1st Deputy President Eze Mike Elechi, 2nd Deputy President Dr. Chinyere Nwoga, Publicity Secretary Mrs. Mercy Abu, Elected Council members; Dame Floretta Halliday, Pst. Uche Onochie, Engr. Godwin Etim, Chief Emma Okas Wike and Dr. Innocent Akuvue, Trade Groups Chairmen, Mr. Godfrey Agorom, Mr. Clement Akanibo,  Surveyor Emmanuel Ogbonda and Engr. Lazarus Uduak, the Director of Commerce Mr. E. C. Nwankwo and the Chamber Director General Mr. Erasmus Chukunda.
