Umuebule serial killer also killed expatriates

It has emerged that about two expatriates were some of the victims of the serial killer of Umuebulu who hails from Ngor-Okpala in Rivers State. This is as his wife and two children have since fled after the arrest of the suspect.


The Rivers State police command thus arrested Anthony Ndubuisi who hails from Umuokoro Ezeama in Ngor Okpala LGA of Imo State, a suspected serial killer who lures his victims with business proposal at the same time killed. He usually dumped them in soak-away facility inside his compound in Umuebulu in Igbo Etche in Etche LGA of Rivers state.

The Commissioner of police in Rivers Joseph Mukan, who led a team of special operations to the suspected serial killer’s compound says the serial killer despite collecting Ransom still murders his victims and was arrested by operatives of Anti-kidnapping unit of the Rivers State command through a credible information.

Operatives of the Aniti-Kidnapping Unit, in a sting operation, arrested a notorious kidnapper and serial killer who resides at Umuebulu1 in Etche Local Government Area. The suspect who was arrested through intelligence, on interrogation, confessed to have carried out several kidnappings and killings of his unsuspecting victims, including three foreign nationals and a Nigerians. The recent case was kidnapping and killing of one Ajumiene Offor who was lured from Aba to his house for a business transaction. He said he kidnapped and killed him on the 9th of June, 2020.

The police said investigations were ongoing to unravel the real intentions of the suspec. He said, “Investigation are ongoing and efforts have been intensified to arrest other members of his gang.”

Addressing journalists at the scene of exhumation, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Joseph Mukan, condemned the act and declared total war against perpetrators of heinous crimes in the State.
The police boss also appealed to the public to increase their security consciousness and report all suspicious characters and movements to the police, through the following security numbers: 08032003514; 08028915462; 08182157778.

Meanwhile the 52-year-old suspected serial killer while speaking to newsmen said hardship led him into kidnapping and demanding for ransom from his victims. He told newsmen that he normally strangled his victims to death when they visited him for business discussion in his house.

He said he is a native of Ngor-Okpala in Imo State and had been engaged in the shoe business for more than 14 years. He confirmed that he has a shop somewhere at Garrison in Ogbunabali area of Port Harcourt.

The man’s wife escaped and two of his senior children, a boy and a girl, had since run away from the house upon the arrest of their father. The wife also absconded on the arrest of her husband, leaving two of her children behind.

Items recovered from the suspect include two pump action rifles. Upon exhumation the police recovered three human skulls and the decomposing body of his recent victim.
