Can the Manger children know you more?

Okay, my name is Greatman Badom. I’m the Managing Director, Maiden International Education, and I am also the Head of Mission for UNESCO in Rivers State.
Q:
Okay we are here for the manger project and you are representing UNESCO, can you tell us how this concerns the UNESCO?
Ans:
Basically, it’s not totally a UNESCO thing but personally I’m passionate about volunteering. I’m also passionate about children and putting smiles on their faces. So, yesterday I heard about it and I decided to show up today even though it was on short notice. It matters to me because we needed to deal with children and put smiles on their faces during the festive period but if you look at it generally, UNESCO has everything to do with young people and children because it’s a scientific arm and the cultural arm of the United Nations.
It’s also the arm that looks at education for children so UNESCO has a lot to do with making better the life of children. And, of course, it aligns with my ideals, so that’s why I’m here.
Q:
The organisers of the Manger Project have gone to the grassroots to fish out these vulnerable children but we believe there are many more needing attention; how has this inspired you as a UNESCO representative?
Ans:
Basically, I’m inspired and that’s why I’m here. If this is a continuous thing like they’ve told me, I’ll love to be a part of it. Definitely, I’ll love to be a part of it, I’ll love to see this happen every year. So, even if I’m not going to start a fresh project on this, of course I’m going to align with the existing project, to ensure that this continues yearly. I like what they are doing; the Manger Project. They told me they have to meet some prominent people in the society and talk to them to sponsor some children and take them from the street. They brush them up, buy them new clothes, take them for photoshoots, give them that sense of love in the festive period. It’s good so for me. I’ll like this to continue and I’ll be a part of it in every way.
