The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Arc Tonye Cole, has filed an appeal against the tribunal verdict that awarded victory to Sim Fubara in the governorship election of March 2023.
The appeal was entered on Monday, October 23, 2023, with Appeal Number allocated as A/ABJ/EP/GOV/RV/121/2023.
Meanwhile, the candidate seems to get hints that many members of the APC in the state want to identify with a PDP bigwig who is now working for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and seems to sweep the APC off the feet.
Cole has thus sent a passionate appeal to them thus: “My People, by now you would all have heard the word of some leaders planning to move over to Wike this week. To many of you, the news will be disappointing, to some devastating to others not surprising.
“Whatever the emotional reaction you have to this news and others like it that may arise, just know that some of us still respect the heavy sacrifice paid by you, the people and lovers of APC, in the course of this struggle to liberate Rivers State and we will not relent.
“We are still standing and taking the battle on till the very end. Your belief in me will not be in vain.
“Remain prayerful, remain focused and keep your complete trust in God. There is nothing He cannot do.
I remain yours in loyalty and service.”
