Mr and Mrs David Ogwuzerem described the ‘Mayor of Pitakwa’ event as a good one for the holiday so that people will have fun and relaxation. Mr Ogwuzerem also said they came to support the organizer of the event.
“It’s a holiday, one needs to catch fun, have some relaxation and feel the impact of the holiday. I know the organizer, we are here to support the organizer, I know him very well. He is a young man who is trying to survive.”
When he was asked why he came without bothering about insecurity, he replied: “Insecurity is a challenge but we must go out and come in. I know it’s not as bad as they paint it in Port Harcourt, even though we have few reports of insecurity. People still move freely late in the night, especially in the GRA. Recently there is maximum security by the security agents. They are doing very well. So, the fear of insecurity is not high this period.”
Mr Ogwuzerem said that Port Harcourt used to be the hub of entertainment and fun industry but that militancy and cultism affected it, and Lagos took over the industry. He also said that: “But in the last few years there have been efforts to reintroduce entertainment. I appeal to the government to give their full support to the creative artists, those who are into the creative business. They should build sites, environments, and locations because tension is much in Nigeria and people are supposed to ease out tension.”
He went further: “I encourage those who are engaged into vices to begin to think of how to develop their brain with music, drama, comedy, writings, etc. These are things they can do with their minds, though they may not pay high from the beginning.”

Another person, Mr Victor Tubo, also described the event as a good investment because it gives peace of mind. He also said that people perish because of lack of vision.
“The Bible says that my people perish because of lack of knowledge but I will tell you today that people perish because of lack of vision. I urge everyone to buy into this Mayor of Housing, it’s a good investment. It is an investment that will give you peace of mind and be sure that you are moving to the next level. When you buy into this business, you go home and have your two eyes closed while sleeping and see your investment moving down to the peak.”
