Written by silvernewsng

Strategic entrepreneurship and business development leadership are crucial to organisational success.

Mr Chinemerem Oguegbe, Chairman of the Nigerian Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (NASME), Anambra State Chapter, made the assertion in an interview with newsmen in Awka.

Oguegbe, the Chief Executive Officer of Geoserve Renaissance Academy, said that entrepreneurs desiring success must be strategic in their operations and do more to develop business leadership skills.

The chairman said that the association would continue to provide support services for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

He emphasised that SMEs were crucial to the survival of any economy, adding that Anambra State benefitted much from activities of NASME.

“Our vision is to create an enabling environment for SMEs to thrive by providing them with the necessary tools, knowledge and opportunities.

“One of our most notable initiatives is the recent Capacity Building for Master Trainers under the One Youth 2 Skills programme of Anambra Government.

“As the lead facilitator, I have played a pivotal role in equipping young entrepreneurs with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in today’s competitive market.

“By focusing on capacity building, NASME is not only empowering individual entrepreneurs but also strengthening the broader economic fabric of Anambra State,” he said.

Oguegbe said that being a member of NASME at the moment attracted numerous benefits designed to address key challenges faced by small businesses.

“The benefits include access to funding for members, facilitation of access to markets for members, and increasing visibility within and outside the state.

“Other benefits are capacity building, networking opportunities, business support services, access to business growth opportunities, access to industry news and updates, and opportunities to be part of a community.”

Oguegbe said that NASME had bridged the gap between policy and practice, ensuring that voices of small business owners were being heard and their needs addressed.

He called on youths and small business holders in Anambra Statr to join NASME and benefit from opportunities.

“As the association continues to evolve, we will undoubtedly remain a cornerstone of economic development, providing invaluable support to entrepreneurs who are the backbone of the local economy,” he said. (NAN)
